Fake Insurance Card Leads To Guilty Plea

LR woman uses fake card at Revenue Office at State Police HQ

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr today released the following statement following the guilty plea of a Little Rock woman using a fictitious insurance card in an attempt to register her vehicle:

“Using a fake insurance card is a losing proposition no matter where you are, but even more so when doing it at State Police Headquarters.  I commend our Criminal Investigation Division for their efforts to curb the use of fake insurance cards.  Uninsured drivers lead to higher premiums for all Arkansans.”

Wonesia Washington, 30, plead guilty July 6 in Pulaski County Circuit Court to one count of attempted insurance fraud, a Class A Misdemeanor, for using a fictitious insurance card while trying to register her vehicle on March 7 at the Little Rock (SW) Revenue Office located at #3 State Police Plaza Drive.

Washington was sentenced to six months of probation, a $250 fine, and court costs.
