Kerr Announces Insurance Agent Increases

Over 3,000 new agent licenses issued in first quarter of 2018

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr today released the following statement announcing the Arkansas Insurance Department has issued 3,633 new individual agent and adjuster licenses during the first quarter of 2018:

“A new agent license is a new job, and this first quarter increase is yet another example to the insurance industry that Arkansas is open for business.  My goal for 2018 is to recruit more businesses to not only give Arkansas consumers more choices, but to help create more jobs for those looking at a career in the insurance industry in our state.”

Through March 31, the Department licensed a total of 125,686 individuals—a 2.97% increase over the 122,053 licenses at the end of 2017.  Since Kerr became Commissioner in 2015, the Department has increased agent and adjuster licensing by 43.8%.
