Consumer Services Recovers $3.67M in First Half of 2018

Kerr: CSD is getting the job done

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr today released the following statement announcing that the department’s Consumer Services Division (CSD) recovered $3,673,940 for Arkansas insurance customers in the first half of 2018:

“I am very proud of the work of our Consumer Services Division performs on behalf of Arkansas policyholders, especially when—in the first six months of 2018—it meets and greatly exceeds the amount of recoveries for the whole of 2017.  AID’s primary mission is consumer protection, and this recovery amount is proof that CSD is getting the job done.”

Recoveries are dollar amounts recovered for Arkansas consumers by CSD in excess of the amounts initially offered by insurance companies.

For 2017, the Consumer Services Division recovered $2,813,513.

CSD assists insurance consumers with complaints and inquiries regarding insurance companies, producers, and adjusters. The division investigates all complaints, working with the insurance company and the consumer to determine the appropriate course of action. CSD travels statewide to provide educational information and materials.
